My Ibanez

Posted on: February 6, 2010 — Posted in: Uncategorized

I don’t write/talk about my guitars much. Until now.
First, the trusty Ibanez (I’ll add the others later).  PHOTO CREDIT: Courtney Cook!
I bought this guitar for $300 when I was in my mid teens. Used it playing rhythm guitar in blues bands before I was of drinking age, and still use it today.
It is the trusty die hard, has been dropped, kicked over, and on plenty of airplanes in it’s life. Often confused for a gibson, this heavy solid body beast is relatively rare sound wise and that’s probably why I still use it. Note the old EGB sticker and lack of nobs (the original nobs are hard to find and keep on the guitar) so, I just let em’ go and turn the gears. Listen to a solo played on this guitar in a live Boston video from 05′ (different EGB line-up back then: Mike Miksis/Bass, Ben Zecker/Keys, Carl Benevides/Sax, Phil Antoniades/Drums)
