Hey guys, This is Sue’s report….8/7/10
Beach, Booze, and EGB at Inn on the Blues!
Summa, Summa, Summatime is in full swing and I’ve been living it up every chance I can get! From beach days and BBQ’s to hikes up north and roasting marshmallows by campfires, I haven’t let one weekend go to waste! This past weekend was by far the most fun I’ve had all summer. The Evan Goodrow Band played a show at the Inn on the Blues in York Beach, ME and when I saw the gig posted on their website I immediately marked my calendar. I grew up going to York Beach with my family: Fun O Rama, snow cones, homemade fudge and taffy
from GoldenRod Kisses…the mere thought alone gives me nostalgia! So what could be better than starting off a weekend with the beach, booze, and EGB at Inn on the Blues? Absolutely nothing! The show was promising and a must see so I booked a room for the weekend where the band was playing. The Inn offers great ambience, dining, lodging, and scenic views of the beach as well as York’s hip scene along Short Sands.
Like every other gig I’ve attended, EGB delivered a high energy performance with songs that were sure to get your body moving. From EGB’s upbeat older classic “Soulicious” (my personal favorite) to their new ballad “Let Me” (now a new favorite), the band reeled in a great crowd of people who danced and drank the entire night away. It was an evening jam packed with new and old fans and friends who all enjoyed a phenomenal performance by the band. They sounded better than ever and it was without a doubt a great time had by all.
With the beach only feet away and the Inn’s modern and fun vibe this was by far one of my all time favorite EGB shows. I highly recommend checking out the bands next gig at the Inn on the Blues scheduled on Saturday October 16th. So mark your calendars, book a room, and start planning for a great weekend. I guarantee you won’t want to miss it!
Until next time…I’m off to put my feet in the sand, my face in the sun, and my ears to EGB!
Hey guys, This is Sue’s report….5/5/10
Have you ever been to a concert where the opening act was 10 times better than the band or artist you paid big bucks to see? In one aspect it’s great to be turned onto a new band or find new music that you love, but at the same time it creates a huge disappointment in the band you were ultimately there for.
I’ll never forget my first rock concert. It was the summer before going into sophomore year of high school. I had pink hair, black finger nails, and a super interesting fashion sense in clothes. My dad took me and 2 friends to see Alanis Morissette and the opening band was Radiohead. I remember sitting in the stadium anxiously waiting to jam out to Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” and every other song on her debut album that I was such a huge fan of. We had seats right up front and I was totally ready to rock. When Radiohead took the stage I was only familiar with one song, “Creep”. I was unsure on whether or not I’d enjoy their show, but I soon found myself dancing to their music and completely mesmerized by their performance. I also think I fell in love with long haired guitar player Jonny Greenwood who I could practically reach out and touch. Now don’t get me wrong, Morissette was great, but Radiohead had a special kind of energy and sound. An energy and sound that was powerful and incredibly unique. They delivered a great presence on stage and a strong and memorable performance. From that day forward I’ve remained a fan of Radiohead’s eclectic music and my dad and I still reminisce about that concert and how we think Radiohead put on a better show. It’s definitely a concert that we’ll never forget!
I won’t leave you “High and Dry”, but until next time, I’m out!

Did you have a crazy weekend? I know because you posted pictures on your Facebook page! Not feeling well today? I know because your status update just told me! People seem to be more inclined to “Facebook” over emailing, text messaging, and even calling these days. I can find out what my friends, family, and favorite bands are doing all the time.
People ask me why I like Facebook so much…? Truth be told, this famous social networking site enables all of us to reconnect with old friends, stay in touch with new friends, and find out what the latest gossip is. How can’t you become addicted?!
Artists thrive on Facebook because it allows them to keep their fans up-to-date on upcoming shows and new music. And btw, don’t ever forget how important the role of being a “fan” to your favorite artist is. We feed their career! So with that being said I encourage you all to continue rockin’ out with the band by checking out the new page and become an “Official” EGB fan!

You’ve all seen Evan Goodrow perform…check!
You’ve all been to his website…check!
You’re all friends with him on Facebook…check!
Aahhh Facebook. The rapidly growing online social networking website that we’ve all grown to know and love. No one actually emails me anymore. They Facebook me. And who calls me these days? It’s all done with a simple Facebook comment or text message. Technology is advancing everyday and it’s like having a second full-time job keeping up with the times and my people!

Most musicians, artists, and celebrities know the importance of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. The next time you log into your Facebook account please visit Evan Goodrow and check out his new MyStore tab (located next to his Photo tab). We all know we can buy EGB’s stuff on iTunes, but a lot of you may not be aware that for artists, it’s actually not the best place to buy their music and merch. MyStore is a new application that Nimbit created to help musicians sell direct to fans right from their Facebook page. Imagine that, now not only can you send Evan an email or comment on a picture, but you can buy his music all on Facebook.
The power of Direct to Fan is important for artists because
1. It empowers the artist to know their fans.
2. The artist makes more money when you buy direct.
So, the next time you want to download one of Evan’s sweet new songs or buy a CD or T-shirt, please stop by his MyStore on Facebook. I think you’ll all agree that it’s the coolest thing since sliced bread!
See you all online!

Finally! It’s starting to feel like summer here in good ole New England. It’s so nice to see the sun after a month of cold rainy weather. EGB definitely helped me kick off my summer to a great start at their Lowell Summer series concert on July 10th where the band opened for the Los Lonely Boys. I had the opportunity to help out at the merchandise table and meet and greet fans. It was quite the show.
The band rocked the Boarding House park performing some of their newer music. The crowd was filled with existing EGB fans and fresh faces that immediately fell in love with their music and energy. It was exciting to see so many fans swarm over to the merch table buying CD’s and requesting pictures and autographs from the boys as soon as they walk off stage. It was a night filled with great music and amazing people who love and support EGB and I’m honored to have been a part of it!

June 29th
There is nothing worse than the Monday morning blues. I seriously needed a pick me up this morning while driving to work! Especially after this rainy and dreary June we’ve had. Where is the sun? And what pumps me up for a new week on my 50 minute car ride to the office? Music of course!
I recently downloaded EGB’s Soulicious Bootleg, Live from St. Barths. I must admit that although the recorded version of Soulicious rocks, their live rendition of this track could blow the roof off any venue. I find it quite impressive when any band or musical artist sounds better live than their recorded album. There’s nothing more disappointing then buying tickets to see a band in concert and then being let down with their live performance. EGB nails every song and never fails in taking their music to a whole different level at live shows. In this live version of Soulicious you can really hear how tight the band is. The improvisation is killer and their energy is endless. It jams hard core and their talent really shines without question. Hell, even my little sisters ( 8 and 10) are now rocking out to EGB on their iPods! Their songs are infectious and always leave me wanting more.
There’s an extra 2 minutes of sweet “Soulicious” jam time in this live track. So if you haven’t already checked out the Soulicious Bootleg, Live from St. Barths yet, I strongly recommend it!

There are a few things I’ve decided I just can’t do without in life. Chocolate, Sex And The City re-runs, and my Blackberry.
I mean let’s be honest, you can’t deny a girl who’s craving sweets, Sex And The City continues to entertain me no matter how many times I may have already seen an episode, and my Blackberry…well let’s just say I can’t seem to put the damn thing down. I now fully understand why it’s been given the nickname “Crackberry”.
But truthfully, above all the materialistic or silly things I enjoy in life, there is one thing that I honestly believe I just can’t “live without”, music. Music saves my soul everyday. I sing it, I write it, I listen to it. It has the ability make me cry, laugh, give me goosebumps, and even make me feel things that my heart doesn’t quite understand. It’s helped me through unbelievably tough times in my life like my parents divorce when I was a kid. It’s also helped me celebrate happy times. There is a song that can capture every mood, every feeling, and every moment. Not everyone can understand the mechanics of music, but we can all connect with it. Maybe you listen to rock, maybe you listen to classical, either way music has the power to find its way into every ones soul.
Personally I listen to a wide variety of music. You might catch me rockin’ out to a country song one day, but maybe tomorrow it’s folk or rock, or maybe theater. Who knows? I do know that Evan Goodrow is definitely on my soundtrack to fabulous music. EGB quickly became one of my new favorites bands and they put on a killer performance at every live show. There is a lot to be said for someone who can play, write, sing, perform, and show true emotion in every lyric. That my friends is pure talent and something you definitely don’t want to miss.
For now I’m off to go eat chocolate, play on my crackberry, and listen to my Top Rated playlist
